New Openbravo quickstart edition, hosted in the cloud, running on Ubuntu. A fully opensource solution. I had avoided Openbravo in the past because there didn’t seem to be any Canadian localization. However, there are a few partners working on it now, and there seem to be some other needed improvements in the latest version. There is also a fairly high profile commercial organization behind them for marketing and support. For these reasons, I think it should now be considered as a viable alternative in the Canadian mid-market space. The architecture is very similar to Compiere and Adempiere. Unlike Compiere, it doesn’t require the proprietary Oracle database, and will run on the Opensource Postgres database like Adempiere.
